Naoki Sekiya is the founder of Sekiya Law Office, and has been practicing immigration and nationality law exclusively since 2004. He has been a certified specialist in immigration and nationality law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. The board-certified specialist status is a distinguished status given only to those attorneys who have passed a rigorous written exam and demonstrated a high level of experience in the specialty field and have been favorably viewed by peers and judges.
Mr. Sekiya received his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (Sacramento, CA) in 2004 with concentration in taxation. He also received honors in the law school’s Immigration Clinic program. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in English in 1995 from Chuo University (Tokyo, Japan). Prior to starting his own practice, Mr. Sekiya has worked as an associate immigration attorney for Law Offices of Douglas M. Lehrman (Sacramento, CA) and Law Offices of Michael J. Gurfinkel (Glendale, CA).
Mr. Sekiya is licensed to practice law in the State of California and can represent administrative immigration cases throughout the United States. He is also admitted to practice before U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
He is fluent in both English and Japanese.
